Coming home from a brewery an hour away I stopped for some groceries. I parked next to this pre-facelift 4th gen TL SH-AWD. I like the quad exhaust tips better, and the lighter wheels would be good for autocross, but overall I like mine better. I see 4th gens every now and then, but not often do I see AWDs. Although there’s one of each at my brother’s apartment complex.

Even the older beaks, I always loved how each Acura has looked.

I wasn’t a fan of the original gigantic beak on the TL, but on the TSX and other cars I think the beak looks fine. The styling wasn’t the main reason I went with the facelift version (the extra gear in the automatic and the Advance option package were more important factors) but it was something I considered.

I don't mind the beak, but I want more pedals and more wagon.

You could get the TL with a manual, but they’re rare. Same with the TSX wagon (which was relegated to auto-only, even in markets where it was sold as the Accord).

Sigh. I am familiar with this problem. It is when you want the wagon and the pedals when the problem happens. :/

It’s weird as I look back on how I have viewed car styling. I remember when these came out and being crazy angry with the Acura beak and how it looked. But as time has come on and seeing what Lexus and everyone else is doing with “max grill” I really like these now. Basically, it’s interesting seeing what time has done to my thoughts on car design.
